How does NeighborHelp location work?
NeighborHelp uses your browser Geolocation API to find your coordinates. When you post a request, these coordinates are mapped to a pin so neighbors can locate the task nearby. Exact details are only visible if you share them in description.
Is this platform free to use?
Yes, NeighborHelp is 100% free of charge. There are no registration fees, ads, or service premiums. It is created for community support and social good.
How do I earn active helper badges?
Your badge adjusts dynamically based on the number of ratings (reviews) and your average rating score from other neighbors: 1. Bronze Helper 🥉: Default starting tier (0-1 ratings) 2. Bronze Star ⭐: 2+ reviews, 3.5+ rating average 3. Silver Helper 🥈: 5+ reviews, 3.8+ rating average 4. Silver Star 🌟: 8+ reviews, 4.0+ rating average 5. Gold Helper 🥇: 12+ reviews, 4.2+ rating average 6. Gold Star ✨: 16+ reviews, 4.4+ rating average 7. Platinum Neighbor 💎: 20+ reviews, 4.5+ rating average 8. Community Pillar 🏛️: 25+ reviews, 4.6+ rating average 9. Super Neighbor 🏆: 30+ reviews, 4.7+ rating average 10. Elite Savior 👑: 40+ reviews, 4.8+ rating average Additionally, you can now write descriptive review comments when rating your neighbors, which are saved in their profile "Reviews" tab.
Are my messages private?
Yes! Chats are secure, and for privacy reasons, message records are purged from the MongoDB servers after 24 hours.
How do I delete my help request pin?
Simply go to your Profile page, click on the "My Requests" tab, and click the "Delete Request" button on any active card.
